About
Artist Bio
My name is Angelina and I have been making art my whole life. Currently I am a teaching artist at a public school in the state of Washington in the Tacoma area. For my personal work, I work with fluid acrylic paints on canvas. I have an BA in Studio Art from San Jose State University.
Finding myself to be a lost soul at the age of 44 I began to wonder about the nature of self. If I am a soul in a body having a temporary human experience, who am I and why am I here? I was introduced to the concept of Intentional Creativity by my teacher Shilo Sophia. Through this method I have found that creativity is the best vehicle to understanding myself at the level of my truest self. Each painting I do is not just a painting but a journey with many messages, and a conversation with my soul.
I start my work with an intention. That intention is infused into the very first layer of paint. Nothing is decided before I begin. I allow the brush and my intuition to do all the work as I am going. It is a practice in listening to the inner voice and following the brush. The canvas is a portal inviting whatever needs to show up. Even the smallest thing can have so much meaning. It feels magical! Each layer of paint informs the one after creating an interwoven, multi layered message from my soul to yours.
In the future I hope to teach more workshops to people who are ready to explore their inner world with me as their tour guide. I hope that my art inspires you in some way and speaks to your soul.
From my light to yours, Namaste’.
